Character: Kusajishi Yachiru

Personality: Yachiru is a hyper-active woman-child who has been the fukutaichou for Division 11 of the Gotei 13 ever since Kenpachi first arrived and defeated the former captain. In a true usage of the adage that ‘size matters not’ she is powerful in her own right even though she is only 3ft 7in tall. Known for her hyperactive temperament and love of fighting, Yachiru is easily distracted by shiny things, candy, and Kenpachi.
Not exactly the most patient, Yachiru does not react to criticism well and likes to attack people who insult her, Kepachi, or Division 11. Even though she is typically cheery and energetic she can be incredibly intimidating when she needs to. When she activates her reaitsu it takes the form of an angry, demonic, pink cat face.
Background: Found as a toddler in the 79th District of Rukongai, an area known as Kusajishi, Yachiru didn’t even have a name when Zaraki Kenpachi came upon her playing in the blood of her murdered parents, seemingly oblivious to the mayhem around her. Defeating the bandits who had committed the crime, Kenpachi only took notice of Yachiru when she reached up to touch his sword. For reasons he has never revealed, Kenpachi decided to give Yachiru a name, the name of the one person who influenced him the most, and took her with him on his travels through Rukongai.
Eventually the duo arrived in Seireitai where Yachiru, now old enough to walk and talk, watched as Kenpachi defeated the Captain of the 11th Division and took over their leadership. After demonstrating the fighting skills Kenpachi had taught her Yachiru became his fukutaichou, and together they lead the fighting division in their maneuvers.
Regardless of the fact that she has only the barest memories of her parents Yachiru thinks of Kenpachi as the only family she has ever known. He was the person who saved her and made sure she survived to this day, and she knows deep down that he cares just as deeply for her as she does for him. He is her most important person, the only thing she truly cares for in the world, and she could not imagine a world without him in it.
